The brink of madness

This is the look of a man who has taken his wife to the brink of madness and then reeled her back in! Today R woke up super suspicious and it went downhill from there. I decided to take him on a walk with my aunt who drove up from Dana point since I was not comfortable leaving him with Nonna Biba. Usually he quite happily follows but today every time I let go his hand he changed direction. He was dragging behind trying to anticipate lurking danger and getting angry because I was seemingly unaware of the imminent sky falling. It has to be so hard to live in that fear and any reassurance you receive is instantly forgotten. The walk did have the desired effect of moving the meds through his body so the afternoon was relatively calm but I realized just how tenuous my grasp on him really is. If he decides that I am not safe and runs off, there is literally nothing I can do. This face confirms my theory!
